A Riverside woman was arrested on June 13, 2020 on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident. She had reported to the Corona Police Department who were investigating a fatal hit-run of a bicyclist.

Neomi Velado, 22, turned herself in. “Our investigation continues, and additional charges may be added.” the department said in a statement.

Benjamin Montalvo, 21, who was from Corona, died just after midnight on Friday. He was struck by a dark-colored passenger vehicle as he and two friends were cycling south on Rimpau Avenue. They were cycling along the curb.

Police said the car, Montalvo, and the two other bicyclists, were all heading southbound when he was struck. No other injuries were reported, and the car’s driver did not stay at the scene.
